On Wednesday, May 8, 2024. Carol Elaine Poecking was born in Huntingdon, PA, but spent most of her life in the vicinity of Buffalo, NY, before relocating to Pittsburgh in 2015. She was predeceased by her parents Lester Grant Donaldson and Grace Awkerman, her sister Evelyn Price, and her husband Gordon Poecking. She is survived by her sons, the Revs. David and Kevin Poecking, her niece Laura Reeves, and her nephew Grant Gengler. Carol as homemaker, medical secretary, and church secretary put herself through grad school at SUNY Buffalo, earning an MSW, launching a second career as a counselor. Her lifelong Christian practice led to spiritual music and literature and ultimately to the Catholic faith. A private interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Hamburg, NY.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, from 3-7pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 10 am. A private interment will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Hamburg, NY.

All are welcome to join in praying the rosary in church prior to Carol's Mass on Thursday morning.
