Ralph P. Krichbaum

On January 24, 2024, age 94, of Carnegie. Beloved husband of Maureen and the late Dr. Kay T. Thompson; stepfather of William H. Jenkins; brother of Norma (Paul) Smith of Edmond, OK and Julia (Dr. Thomas) Swan, of Cambridge, OH; also survived by generations of many loving nieces and nephews.

He was born and raised in Oakwood, Allegheny County. He graduated from Langley High School and the University of Pittsburgh School of Mechanical Engineering. Ralph worked nine years as a union sheet metal worker. After he married Dr. Kay Thompson, he completed his education. He worked at Westinghouse Electric Corporation where he spent three years applying computer technology to improve productivity for white collar workers. His tenure at Westinghouse Electric lasted for over thirty years.

Ralph loved the outdoors. He was an avid hunter, caver, skier, and camper throughout his life. He loved to fish with his wife, Maureen, in Florida. Ralph enjoyed all kinds of music, especially Dixieland jazz. He also enjoyed golfing with his former neighbors and fellow employees at Westinghouse.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC.

Interment will take place in Jefferson Memorial Cemetery. A memorial ceremony will be held at a future date.
