Barbara Ann (Kulesa) Koziak

April 17, 1940

October 28, 2023

Age 83, a life-long resident of Carnegie passed away on Saturday, October 28, 2023. Preceded in death by her parents, Anthony “Jack” and Sophia Kulesa, her siblings, Dolores Schidek Tessaro, Paul (Dee) Kulesa, Anthony (Beverly) Kulesa, Edward Kulesa, Virginia Flint Beard and her beloved & only son, Ronald “Ronnie” Koziak Jr.

Barbara will be greatly missed by her daughter, Lynn, son-in-law Douglas Zywan and grand dog Buster. She is survived by daughter-in-law Lori (Metz) Koziak, grandchildren Michael, Matthew and Malory Koziak, and sister-in-law Joann Kulesa.

Barb will be especially missed by her many generational nieces and nephews with whom she maintained close relationships and her friends and neighbors, old and new, from Glendale and Carnegie Retirement Residence. She will be remembered for her fun-loving personality, “not always clean” joke telling, and her love of playing cards, Bingo, scratch off lottery tickets “scratchies” and visits to the casino.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Family Hospice of UPMC (Stacey Schaeffer and Pam Sams), Angels for Aging LLC (Taisha Trent), Judy Stevenson and especially to Doris Avigliano for their unwavering love, support, and care honoring Barb’s wishes.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Monday, October 30, 2023 from 3-7PM at 101 Third Street, Carnegie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, Ss. Simon and Jude Church, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at 10:30AM.
