John L. "Cump" Duran, Sr.

Age 77, of Carnegie, affectionately known as “Cump” to everyone, passed peacefully, October 13, 2021, surrounded by his children and loved ones.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas; survived by his “Poopsie” of 36 years, Elaine Zajicek; father of John Duran, Jr. (Kaaren), Kimberlee Duran-Woomer (Barrett), and Aaron Duran (Jamie); grandfather of Mackenzie, Connor, Kaaren, Nico, Boston, Gianna and Wolph; Brother of Albert, Anthony, and Alberta of Colorado; cherished Brother-in-Law and Uncle of The Zajicek Family.

Cump was a sweet, kind man and loving father who knew no stranger and was a friend to all. Cump was a business owner of Duran’s Restaurant and Lounge, Carnegie, PA, and proudly served in the United States Army.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the SZAFRANSKI-EBERLEIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., where family and friends will be received on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 1-8 pm at 101 Third St., Carnegie. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 10 am. Cump will be laid to rest in St. Joseph Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
